How is my offer calculated?

From current market data for your exact car — year, make, model, trim and mileage — and the condition and history you tell us about. Every line is on the offer: the market value, our service fee, and any adjustment for the condition. No hidden deductions.

Is the offer free? Am I committed to anything?

Free, and no. Nothing is final until you sign at the pickup, and you can walk away at any point before that.

Do you buy cars in any condition?

Yes — high mileage, body damage, mechanical issues, a failed inspection, a car that doesn't run. Tell us up front and the offer reflects it; there's nothing to fix or clean before we come. A car that doesn't drive, we still come and get for free — the offer simply reflects that it needs a tow.

Is there anything you don't buy?

Most cars get an offer. Some don't fit what we're buying at the moment — it depends on the car and the circumstances, not on a blanket rule, and we reserve the right to decline any vehicle. Either way, you hear from us within one business day instead of waiting.

Why do you need my VIN?

Two cars with the same name can be worth thousands apart. The VIN tells us the exact trim, engine and options, so the offer is right the first time. It's on your registration certificate, on the sticker inside the driver's door, and at the bottom of the windshield on the driver's side.

Why do you ask for photos?

Photos let us confirm the condition and price the car without a visit. Four sides, the dashboard with the car on, the seats, and any damage up close. Phone photos in daylight are perfect.

How long is my offer valid?

The date is on the offer — 7 days from when we send it. Vehicle values move week to week, which is why offers have a date. If yours has passed, press "Get an updated offer" on your page and a member of our team re-prices the car within one business day.

Will my offer change at the pickup?

Accepted Answer

Not if the car is as you described it. At the pickup we confirm the mileage, the VIN and the condition. If something wasn't described — damage that wasn't mentioned, a warning light — the price can be adjusted, and you'll know before you sign anything.

I'm still driving the car. What if the mileage changes?

Within 1,500 km of the reading we priced with, your offer stays exactly the same. Beyond that, update the mileage on your page and we adjust the offer by the same amount current market data does for the extra kilometres — you see the updated number right away.

Something changed on the car since I submitted — a scrape, new tires. What do I do?

Update the details on your page: current mileage, what changed, a note, photos. A member of our team re-checks your offer within one business day; your current offer stays valid meanwhile.

My offer expired. Can I get a new one?

Yes — press "Get an updated offer" on your page. Tell us the current mileage and anything that changed, and a member of our team prices the car again within one business day. The new offer can be higher or lower: it follows today's market data.

Will an updated offer be lower?

It can go either way. We price from current market data and your car's condition today — the same way we priced it the first time.

Can I sell more than one car?

Yes. Each car gets its own offer, and your page shows every car you've submitted, one tap apart.

I still owe money on my car. Can I sell it?

Yes. We pay your lender the full payoff directly, at no fee, and you receive the difference. All we need is your lender's payout letter, which you upload on your page.

What's a payout letter, and how do I get one?

Your lender's written statement of exactly what's owed on the loan today. Ask your lender for it — most banks issue it from the app or over the phone the same day. The final numbers on your sale follow that letter.

I owe more than the offer. What happens?

We still buy the car. We pay your lender the full payoff, and you pay us the difference at the pickup — Interac e-Transfer, debit, credit card or cheque all work. Your offer itself doesn't change: the loan only changes how the sale is settled.

Can I sell a leased car?

Yes. We buy the car out from your leasing company and pay you the difference between our offer and the buyout. We'll ask for the buyout quote from the leasing company — it's usually available from their app or a phone call.

Do you charge a fee for paying off my loan?

Lenders take a few days to register our payoff, so one more payment can go through. Your lender refunds it to you — if you don't see it within two weeks, call us and we'll chase it with you.

What happens at the pickup?

One of our trained professionals comes to you. It takes between 30 minutes and an hour: we confirm the VIN and the mileage, look the car over, and you sign the contract right there on your phone. We take the keys, remove your plates and hand them to you, and the car leaves with us.

What should I have ready?

Your registration certificate, a photo ID, every set of keys, and anything included in the offer — the extra set of tires or rims, for instance. Empty the car of your things. Leave the plates on; we remove them and give them to you.

Does the owner have to be there?

The registered owner is the one who signs. Selling a car in someone else's name — a parent's, say? Tell us: we send the owner an authorization to sign on their phone, and you handle the rest.

No problem. We confirm the company's details and that you're authorized to sell the vehicle on its behalf, and the applicable taxes are added on top of our offer.

What documents do I need?

Your registration certificate and a photo ID. If you chose direct deposit, a direct deposit form from your bank. If the car is financed, your lender's payout letter; if it's leased, the buyout quote. You upload them on your page — a phone photo is fine.

Get a replacement from the SAAQ before the pickup — online in a few minutes, or at any SAAQ service outlet.

What about my licence plates?

We remove them at the pickup and hand them to you. You then cancel them or transfer them to your next car at the SAAQ.

How do I get paid?

By Interac e-Transfer or direct deposit — you choose when you accept the offer (direct deposit is required above $25,000). Payment is sent at the pickup, once the contract is signed. Depending on your bank it lands within minutes or within one to two business days.

Do I pay tax when I sell my car?

No. The taxes on the sale are ours to handle. Two special cases work in your favour: if the vehicle is registered to a business, the applicable taxes are added on top of the offer and paid to the company; and if you're buying your next car from a dealer, ask us about an accommodation sale — we buy your car through that dealer, so you get the GST and QST on top of our offer as a credit toward the tax on the new one.

Are there any fees?

Our service fee is shown on the offer itself, and the amount you see is the amount you receive. No pickup fee, no paperwork fee, no loan-payoff fee, nothing added afterwards.

Who handles the SAAQ transfer?

We do, after the pickup. You don't go to the SAAQ for the sale — only for your plates, if you're cancelling or transferring them.

What do I do about my insurance?

Can I sell another car from my account?

Yes — "Sell another car" starts a new quote with your details already filled in, and the new car appears on the same page.
